January 4:God is Love

 1 John 4:16-17; 5-3

When you understand the Word of god, you understand His love for His children. To love another as God so loves the world (John ) is sometimes easier said than done, but a true test of the God who lives within us nonetheless.

Jesus speaks specifically to John on the subject of love when He tells John, He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him (John ).Scripture has proven, time and again, that Jesus is representative of Gods love.Jesus clearly says here that if you love Him, you love the Word of God that He was sent to teach us, and the love of God shall live within you.

Consider the love between a mother and child and magnify it by 10,000 and 10,000 times more, and we may begin to scratch the surface on just how much God loves His children.Gods love does not come to us in beautifully wrapped packages, large diamonds, or the dollars in our bank accounts.Gods love presents itself through His grace, peach, forgiveness, and mercy. This is the love that He desires us as Christians to show toward one another.

Like John, we as Christians must spend time in the Word to understand Gods love. But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do.Arise let us go hence (John ).
