Points to Ponder

Why were you created? To please God
God has emotions.
Give some examples of how God shows His motions:God grieves, gets jealous and angry, and feels compassion, pity, sorrow, and sympathy as well as happiness, gladness, and satisfaction. God loves, delights, gets pleasure, rejoices, enjoys, and even laughs

I. Bringing pleasure to God is called worship
 1. Anything you do that brings pleasure to God is an act of
 worship.
 2. We have an inbuilt need to connect to God. It is as natural as
 eating or breathing.

II. Worship is far more than music
1. Which part of the church service is an act of worship?
Every part praying, Scripture reading, singing, listening to a sermon, taking notes, giving an offering, baptism, communion, and even greeting other worshipers.
 2. It is the words that make a song sacred, not the tune.

III. Worship is not for your benefit
1. When we worship our goal is to bring pleasure to God, not ourselves
2. If you have ever said, I didnt get anything out of worship, you worshipped for the wrong reason. Worship isnt for you. It is for God.
3. Gods heart is not touched by tradition in worship, but by passion and commitment.

IV. Worship is not a part of your life; it is your life.
 1. Worship is not just for church serviced; it is a lifestyle.
 2. Every activity can be transformed into an act of worship
when you do it for the
praise, glory, and please of God.
3. The secret to a lifestyle of worship is doing everything as if
 you were doing it forJesus.
