April 25: The Blessed Ones: Those who Mourn
 Matthew 5:4; Luke 6:21; Psalm 30:5; Romans 8:28

In our human state, we identify mourning with tragedy, loss, and sickness. We mourn the loss of loved ones, love, money, and possessions. Jesus teaches that those who mourn shall be comforted, their misfortunes shall be reversed, and their mourning shall be transformed into joy.
Jesus promises this comfort when we mourn the condition of our world or loss of fellowship with the Lord Jesus. He promises to recover our spirits when we mourn, all sorrow endured while serving Him, and the tears we shed for His sake.
Suffering through tragedy, heartbreak, and loss can sometimes test our faith. We find ourselves weeping and asking God for answers to questions that we already have answers to. God does not punish us, but He permits things to come into our lives for the purpose of drawing us closer to Him. Especially during these times are we to grab hold of Gods Word. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God (Rom. ).
