May 16: The Blessed Ones: The Merciful

Remember the saying� �You get back what you put out�? God has instructed us to do just that, but to let what we put out be kindness and mercy. Jesus affirms the Father�s blessing that we will receive what we give out. The compassion we show one to another is confirmation of what is in our hearts. Showing more love and kindness to people than they expect is the essence of being faithful and obedient Christian. Oftentimes we desire revenge on those who have wronged us or our loved ones. Mothers become especially protective of their children when they perceive that an injustice has taken place. But God promised that He will take care of those who have wronged His children. �Vengeance is mine saith the Lord� (Rom. 12:19). Are you not a child of God?
