The Women’s Mission meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM.  This section contains the weekly lessons taken from the Woman’s Home & Foreign Mission Society 2004 Guide and Program Book.  Lessons are added each week for you to study in preparation for the meetings.
July 18 Mission Lesson: God Offers Comfort in Times of Sorrow
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:3-5; Romans 8:26-28
God comforts and strengthens us in times of trouble and sorrow.  He has given us His Spirit, which helps us express our needs to Him.  While God is not the cause of pain and sorrow, He will allow us to be tested.  This is His way of testing our faith and endurance.  Through our pain and sorrow, we find peace in God. We become reconciled in the knowledge that His mercy will see us through.
As missionaries we are to intercede on behalf of our sisters and brothers in Christ for peace and mercy.  God hears us when we call, and He steps in on time to meet each and every need.  Through His grace, we are given new insight into the meaning of our sorrows, and we can rejoice in His spirit of comfort.  Seek the Lord God in all matters of your life, and He shall give you what you need.  God is a kind and merciful God and desires that His children trust Him.
