August 29 Mission Lesson: God Provides Rest in Times of Weariness
Scripture: Matthew 11:28-29; Psalm 23

Jesus provides relief for those who are weary and heavy-laden with the cares of the world.  That relief includes missionaries.  Sometimes we become physically overwhelmed with spreading the Word of God.  We seem to push ourselves until we are too exhausted to go on.  Or maybe we are battling troubles in our own lives.  In times of worry and exhaustion, God is there to provide us with the ultimate comfort His rest.  He is so much stronger than we could ever hope to be and is never too tired to stand in the gap for His children.
As missionaries we will often endure suffering for the purpose of our ministries, just like Jesus did.  It is through our experiences that we can best testify to the goodness of God and be a blessing to others.
God will revel to us what we are to share and when to share it.  He will give us the words to bless those around us, and He will reward us greatly for our obedience.  Witnessing to others about the goodness and mercy of God is much like presenting the Father with a gift.  Not only is He pleased when we walk in the way of the Father but when we spread the good news of how He has brought us through as well.
