May 30: The Blessed Ones: Peacemakers
Matthew 5:9; Romans 12:18-19
God set the example for peace when He sent Jesus to reconcile humanity and restore the divine-human fellowship. Peacemakers are children of God; through their deeds of peach they resemble Him.
In this context, God is not only speaking to people with a peaceful nature or to those who avoid confrontation but also to those who intervene for others to make peace. Maybe you are of stronger character and witness people being mistreated who simply cannot defend themselves. The peacemaker naturally steps in to find a harmonious resolution. While it is easier to avoid discourse and watch from the sidelines, the sons and daughters of God boldly take action to keep peace and create harmony, even it if means being ridiculed.
There are those who come into our lives who will test our tolerance. Their actions toward us make us want to react aggressively and completely ungodly. We should not despair. God has promised to avenge those who cause hurt or pain to His children. Your quest for peace and love can make all the difference in how others will respond to you in the days to come.
