� >According to a 1996 survey by the Barna Group, more than 90% of American households own a Bible. Only 31% of Americans read their Bible regularly.
� Today the Bible is the largest seller of all books published
� The Bible has been published, sold and translated more than any other book
in history
� The Bible has since been translated in part or in whole into over 1,200
languages and dialects.
� There are 30,442 verses � about 845,000 words � in the English Bible.
� The shortest verse is Jesus wept.
� The longest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 119
� The Bible was written by about 40 men over a period of about 1,600 years
dating from 1500 BC to about 100 years after Christ.
These men wrote this Scripture as they were given inspiration by God.
(2 Timothy 3:16). Its authors came from all walks of life, kings, pheasant, philosophers, fishermen, physicians, statesmen, scholars, poets, and farmers.
