Bible Study Wednesday, October 26, 2005 was taught by Assistant Pastor Mark Porter. 
 
 
Facts about the Bible
 >According to a 1996 survey by the Barna Group, more than 90% of American households own a Bible.  Only 31% of Americans read their Bible regularly.
 Today the Bible is the largest seller of all books published
 The Bible has been published,  sold and translated more than any other book
 in history
 The Bible has since been translated in part or in whole into over 1,200
 languages and dialects.
 There are 30,442 verses about 845,000 words in the English Bible.
 The shortest verse is Jesus wept.
 The longest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 119
 The Bible was written by about 40 men over a period of about 1,600 years
 dating from 1500 BC to about 100 years after Christ.
 
These men wrote this Scripture as they were given inspiration by God.
(2 Timothy 3:16).  Its authors came from all walks of life, kings, pheasant, philosophers, fishermen, physicians, statesmen, scholars, poets, and farmers.
