Posted on Fri, Dec 3, 2004

The Women’s Mission meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM.  This section contains the weekly lessons taken from the Woman’s Home & Foreign Mission Society 2004 Guide and Program Book.  Lessons are added each week for you to study in preparation for the meetings.
December 5 Mission Lesson: Christian Hope
Scripture: Romans 8:18-25
Christian hope is the eager longing for and expectation of divine restoration and deliverance.  It waits for the realization of the promise of God, and we are saved by our hope in Jesus Christ.  Hope in things to come can be motivation enough for Christians to live a spirit-filled life.  Even in time of disparity, hope can provide the beacon of light we need to help see us through.  Through our perseverance, God notices our strength and endurance in time of trial and tribulation.  He then rewards us when we’ve been tested and found approval and fills us with hope.
Hope is the earnest expectation of future blessings promised by God.  W4e look forward to the day when the world will be free from sin, disease, suffering, and death.  If 4everything here on earth was already perfect, there would be no need to hope for them.  Our hope for deliverance might not be as great if we already had our wants and needs met.  But our hope for deliverance from the sins of the world is based upon the promises of God.
You may post questions or comments on the website and our Mission President, Sister Joyce Mitchell, will respond online as quickly as possible. Or you can send an email to Pastor Williams at and he will respond.
