July 24, 2005 Sermon: Trust Him
Scripture:  Proverbs 3: 5-6
Sermon delivered by Pastor Williams

God has a way of putting you in a position where you have no other choice but to trust Him, no other choice but to call upon His name.  Whey your back is up against the wall, you learn to lean on Him.

Maybe you are in the house this morning and everything you have touched has turned to gold.  Maybe you are in the house this morning and you have never had to worry about your child.  But there are some that have their backs against the wall.  Maybe you have enough money in your bank account to pay your bills but one day those jobs can dry up and your bank account will have a negative balance.

Just because you have beauty, have hair down to your shoulders, have all those biceps, and all those hour glass figures.  But one day you are going to get old, you hair will turn gray, that smile wont be the way it used to be.

Some of you have more faith in the doctor than you do in God who is the healer and deliverer.  If you really want to trust him, dont agree to anything until you talk to the Lord.  Treat him like American Express dont leave home without him.  Dont do anything until you have consulted the Lord.  We all should walk by faith.

You have to learn how to accept his instructions on your life.  Some of you cant see your way out of a situation.  But you can hear.  Trust in God; accept his instructions and directions for your life.

Not only do you need to accept him but acknowledge him.  And he shall direct your path.  You need to have complete faith in the Lord, your Father.  He said the day you hear my voice, harden not your heart.
