June 27 Mission Lesson: What the Beatitudes Teach: A Summary
 Matthew 5:1-12

The Beatitudes teach us that we must have a proper perspective of ourselves.  They teach us that we must have a proper view of others and of God.  The Beatitudes present a portrait of the ideal citizen in Christ’s kingdom.  “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” (Rom.14:17)/
The kingdom of God shall include all people who claim Jesus as their personal Savior, those born-again Christians.  We shall be characterized by our righteousness, peacekeeping, and mind-sets of joy in the Holy Spirit.  It is a holy lifestyle that will encourage God’s favor.
The Beatitudes are your instructions for the holy lifestyle.  Show yourself approved by God through your lifestyle.  Lead by example and allow the Beatitudes to show in your character.  Like garments of clothing, dress yourself in humility and meekness, showing only kindness and mercy.  Present your heart pure- free of anger, deceit, and jealousy.  Your blessedness will shine through and so shall the God who lives within you.
