May 9: The Blessed Ones: Those Who Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness

����������� Matthew 5:6; Luke 6:21, 25

�

����������� Those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matt. 5:6) also thirst for honesty, integrity, and justice.� These are Christians with high moral standards, and God promises to fulfill the desires of the righteous.� In this context, God is speaking of not only our physical indulgence but our spiritual appetites as well.

Some Christians believe nothing is too good for God�s children.� They spare no expense when satisfying their personal cravings for the finer things in life.� God says that they will hunger in days to come.� His reward is promised to those who are faithful in following His Word.

By thinking and doing right and having a pure heart, we present ourselves in holiness to God.� People who are members of God�s family show their love for Him by living righteously.
