Please join us in welcoming our Pastor, Rev. John L. Taylor, III to New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Our search for a Pastor has been a  lengthy journey which required much prayer as the Lord appointed Rev. Taylor to shepherd his flock. Praise Be to God!  Rev. John Taylor.III  is  a spirit-filled servant who not only loves God but also HIS people.  HOPE is still alive at New Hope!  Welcome Pastor Taylor and Lady Rita!

Pastor John L. Taylor, III a native of Dayton, OH born to the late John L. Taylor, Jr and Diane Printers. He has been in ministry for 28 years serving one congregation for 4 years then coming to New Hope. Pastor Taylor matriculated from Jarvis Christian College with a Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. Being at Jarvis played a dual role in the life of Pastor Taylor. His experience in the Piney Woods served as an academic purpose and a spiritual one. While going to Jarvis and serving in different organizations such as Student Ministers Association, (SMA), President, Student Government Association, (SGA), Chaplain, The Priest of Praise Gospel Choir and others, Pastor Taylor was filled with the Holy Ghost at a noon day prayer meeting. Pastor Taylor is currently enrolled at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA seeking his Master of Divinity degree. Since early on in his life he new there was a calling of God. Started serving in church as an Usher at the Summit Christian Church (DOC) in Trotwood, OH. Served through the ranks on city, state, regional and national levels with the National United Church Ushers Association of America, Inc as a Jr, Young Adult and now a Young Senior. Holding many positions throughout the years, the one that is most dear to his heart is that of the Chairman and Director of the Milton L. Bean Mass Choir since he was 14 years old. Pastor Taylor always shares his journey with God and believes that God elevated him to the pulpit because of his faithfulness on the door. Pastor Taylor loves to serve God and His people. He is honored to do whatever God requires oof him. After separating from his first church, he went back to serve under his Pastor the Reverend Ralph E. Caraway, Sr and the St Louis Baptist Church of Tyler, TX. He served as Associate Minister, Armor Bearer, and Choir Director. His motto is the lyrics to one of his favorite songs: “To God be the glory….” He also has his favorite 5 words in the Bible: “And it came to pass”. He is honored to serve as the Senior Pastor of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Canton, TX. Pastor Taylor is employed with the UT Health East Texas Physicians Hospital as an HR Recruiter. He also serves as an On-Call Chaplain. Pastor Taylor is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc Pastor Taylor is married to the beautiful Rita D. Taylor and the have 3 handsome sons, John L. Taylor, IV, (Papa Smurf), Jeremiah L. Taylor (Scooby-Doo), and Joshua-Josiah L. Taylor (Cookie Monster) (Memory Eternal).
